About Dragon Warrior (NES)
Dragon Warrior is a role-playing game developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix, released in Japan in 1986 as Dragon Quest and in North America in 1989 as Dragon Warrior. Designed by Yuji Horii with art by Akira Toriyama and music by Koichi Sugiyama, it was the first great console RPG, adapting the ideas of Wizardry and Ultima into a friendly single-hero adventure that a whole generation could finish.
You are the descendant of the legendary hero Erdrick. The Dragonlord has stolen the Ball of Light, plunged the kingdom of Alefgard into darkness, and kidnapped Princess Gwaelin. Armed with a bamboo stick and your ancestor’s legacy, you set out alone to set things right.
