Vectorman
Play Vectorman online, BlueSky's 1995 Genesis hit. Blast WarHead's robot army as an orb-built hero in Sega's pre-rendered answer to Donkey Kong Country!
About Vectorman (Genesis)
Vectorman is a run-and-gun platform game developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega for the Genesis in 1995, arriving in Europe in 1996. In 2049, humans have left a polluted Earth to mechanical robots while they clean up the mess. When the robot leader Raster is accidentally rewired into the tyrannical WarHead, every machine is ordered to exterminate humanity on its return. Only Vectorman - a humble sludge-barge pilot unloading toxic waste off-world when the signal hit - missed the broadcast, and he flies home to free his fellow robots alone.
Built from a hero made entirely of glowing orbs, Vectorman was Sega’s pre-rendered answer to Donkey Kong Country, with silky animation, huge sprites, and lighting effects that pushed the Genesis hard in its late prime.
Detailed Gameplay
Blast through 16 days of side-scrolling stages, shooting orb blasts in eight directions and smashing television monitors for power-ups. Vectorman’s body of separate orbs lets him morph into other forms - a drill, a bomb, a fish - to break through barriers and explore.
Orb Blaster Combat
- Fire standard shots in eight directions, including straight up and diagonally while jumping
- Grab weapon upgrades: rapid fire, spread waves, and the devastating bolo gun
- Destroy TVs to reveal health orbs, multipliers, and morph icons
Morph Transformations
- Drill: Bore through cracked floors and enemies below
- Bomb: Detonate to blast open sealed passages and clear the screen
- Fish: Swim freely through flooded sections where Vectorman normally sinks
- Bonus forms and timed power-ups hide in monitors throughout every stage
WarHead’s Robot Army
- Battle mechanized bosses across factories, tundras, and WarHead’s stronghold
- Hunt hidden photons and satellite TVs in every stage to boost your score
- Beat the clock: each day has a time limit, with bonus points for fast, thorough runs

Tips and Strategies to Win
Every monitor hides something worth having. - Shoot every TV you pass - weapon upgrades and health hide inside more often than not. - Use the boot-blast double jump offensively; its downward blast clears enemies below you. - The bolo gun melts bosses - save one in reserve when a boss door is near. - As the drill, keep moving downward through cracked floors to chain bonus rooms. - Chase photons only when the stage timer is comfortable; timeouts cost a life.
